DIY Cupcake Valentines

I found something similar to these Valentine's in Target last year for $5 a card...which is completely out of my price range! I decided that I could do better...and for WAY less. =) The original card (I did take a picture of it, but I think I may have deleted it *sad face*) had three cupcakes on the front of it. I decided to only do one cupcake.


I just cut a piece of card stock in half, scored the card down the middle with a bone fold. I cut out a half circle out of brown sparkle paper. You can get it at Michael's...I love the sparkle paper!! I cut out the cupcake papers and used pinking shears (also known as zigzag scissors) to make it look like the tops of cupcake papers. *Side note* did you know that pinking shears were originally developed for cutting cloth. The zigzag pattern helps prevent fraying. That's your tidbit of useless information for the day =) ...Anyway, I just used some Elmer's glue (since it dries clear) and sprinkled some glass beads on the tops. I found the cutest heart gem stickers to finish the cupcake off. =) Very simple...and totally cute!! I sent them to all my friends and family last year. =)

 The inside simply read: Happy Valentine's Day!

I think they turned out pretty adorable...if I do say so myself. =) I was searching on the internet for other cupcake card ideas and I found some other really cute cupcake cards. Maybe you can make a whole slue of cupcake card Valentines! =)

No tutorial, but super easy...utilize your old cardboard boxes for the cupcake

bottoms, top it off with a cute button! Looks pretty simple to replicate!

This one does have a template. I love how chubby this cupcake looks. =) 

Instead of doing a 'Happy Birthday' tag, put 'Happy Valentine's Day', 

'Hey, Cupcake', 'You're Sweet'...endless possibilities. =)
