DIY Glitter-Tip Shoes

Well, Easter is coming up quickly & I am one of those who likes to get an Easter dress each year. =) So, this year I started with shoes first & THAN found the dress. =) I know, a little backwards. I found these shoes at Target originally $25, but I got them on sale for $10!! Score!! =) Love me some sales! =) The only problem was that when I found my dress I decided that gold would look better than silver. That's when I made up my mind I would do my own glitter-tipped shoes.
You don't have to buy a shoe that already has a different tip...you can buy any shoe and either paint the tip the specific color that you want or mod podge it for a glitter tip.
This particular shoe I wanted to do gold glitter. I used matte Mod Podge.
I have Martha Stewarts glitter set. I really love it because it has a lot of different shades to work with. I used  'Florentine Gold' for my shoes.
Grab some masking tape and mark off the area that you want to paint or mod podge.
Make sure you tape all the way down the sides. If you're taping on a shoe that doesn't have a tip defined for you, don't worry, you can paint or mod podge your line...then take your tape off & fix the line to make sure it's straight.
All ready to do some glittering! =)
I used a small paint brush to do a thin layer of mod podge. covering the entire area that I had taped off.
Since I didn't have to worry about the line being straight I kept the tape on for my glittering. Be sure to cover all the mod podge completely with glitter.
Once I took the tape off there was some excess glitter stuck to the shoe...I think the shoe is like a suede material. I just took a piece of masking tape & used the sticky side to pull of the extra glitter.
Ta-da!
Completely in love with them! They will now go perfectly with my Easter outfit! =)
