Andrea Bocelli Concert in Central Park

I know this post is LOOOOOOOONG over-due. Life can keep you on the go sometimes. Anyway, my sister (Martha) found tickets for Andrea Bocelli's concert in Central Park...so...Martha & her friend (Chris), my mom, oldest sister (Shirl) & her daughter (Jaimee), & I was able to go to the concert! How cool! We arrived in New York and went straight for our hotel, The Hilton Garden Inn, so we wouldn't have to lug our lug-gage =) around. We were able to get two rooms for super cheap & free breakfast for ALL of us...all because Martha is a gold member of the Hilton!
This was the view from our room
Jaimee is peeking out the window
A gift from the Hilton awaits us in our room =)
Yum! all the goodies we got from the Hilton! =) How cool!
tourists! =)
On our way to lunch we came across the FDNY Fire Zone
Hanging on the wall they have all the tools they use to aid them in a rescue.
They have a mock fire truck for little kids to play in.
The wall of fame...all different fire company patches
They also had a nice gift shop...where this fire bell can be yours for $335!
We had a small bite to eat at Carnegie Deli
It was really neat...tight...but neat. They had pictures
up of all the famous people who've come to eat there.
The sandwiches were HUGE!!!!
My mom & I split a sandwich & it was still a lot to eat!
Shirl couldn't eat all of hers so she was able to take home 'the rest of the best' =)
The giant pickle is mascot there. =)
We had to walk off our lunch so we headed over to Rockefeller Center
We went into the Lego Store there...they had all kinds of 'sculptures' made out of legos
It was time to wait in line for Andrea Bocelli's concert
We're a bunch of happy camper waiting in line for three hours

Good thing we were prepared for rain!

Check out Bocelli Central Park to see the professional pictures.

 Our Eticket to get in
Does this look familiar? It came in super handy!
Chris is looking at the program. I was excited to see that
Celine Dion & Tony Bennett were the 'surprise' singers!

 Here he is!!
It became cold and really windy!

Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion sang 'The Prayer'

Tony Bennett sang 'New York, New York' with Andrea.

He has such a magnificent voice!!
Roughing the weather was well worth it to hear Andrea Bocelli!
YouTube video of Andrea Bocelli...it's not the greatest, but you get a feel
for what it was like to sit in the crowd and here his angelic voice =)

All-in-all it was a fantastic night. We had a free concert with one of the best vocalists of all time! It was definitely a night to remember. =) Maybe you can make your own New York trip to see Andrea Bocelli in Central Park next year. You won't want to miss it! There were actually people there from North Carolina! =)
