Mocha Iced Coffee

My husband doesn't like coffee at all...so I invested in a Hamilton Beach six cup Brewing Station. It's actually quite nice. You can make yourself six cups of coffee, pour yourself one or two, and it holds the rest of the coffee in a heating area. It stays hot for a couple hours after brewing. I really like it. I didn't buy a Keurig coffee maker, because Branson doesn't drink ANY hot drinks...maybe once in a blue moon a hot chocolate in the winter, but it's very few and far between. So, it didn't make sense to buy a Keurig for $100 and then the packs of K-cups are $20 each...when I bought my Hamilton Beach coffee maker for $20 and a container of coffee is not that expensive (tip: if you store your coffee in your fridge it keeps its flavor/aroma longer). I just can't justify buying a Keurig just for the convenience of making one cup of hot chocolate, coffee, tea, or cider.....all of which you can buy in the store for super cheap. And really how long does it take to put a cup of water in the microwave and mix in hot chocolate mix. Needless to say, I won't be asking for a Keurig for Christmas. =)

Enough of my ramblings... Ok down to business, often times I make coffee and I have some left over. Instead of pouring it down the drain...make yourself some iced coffee! It can be stored in the fridge!! All you need is: a coffee maker, coffee, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate syrup (you can use my recipe to make your own chocolate syrup chocolate syrup recipe), a measuring cup, tablespoon, and a airtight container to store your iced coffee.

I made six cups first and then I finished off my coffee mix and made approximately two more cups...

Since it's good and hot you want to mix in your sweetened condensed milk.

You'll want to put in two tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk per cup of coffee...in this case I put four tablespoons in and stirred until it was melted.

Side note: did you know that you can store your unused sweetened condensed milk in an airtight container for up to seven days in the fridge? You may be able to keep it longer...but seven days is what's recommended. You can use it for your next batch of iced coffee. =)

Back on track here....add one tablespoon of chocolate syrup per cup of coffee, so I added two tablespoons.

After you're all done mixing everything, pour into an airtight container (if it looks like more then two cups, it is =) I made eight cups total) and put it in the fridge to chill.

Once it's chilled, add ice, add a splash of half-and-half or 2%, mix well, and enjoy!

MMMMMmmmmmm, good! =) Tip: if you don't want your iced coffee to get deluded by your ice cubes, freeze some of your coffee to make coffee ice cubes!

Mocha Iced Coffee Recipe
Ingredients
6 cups coffee
12 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
6 tablespoons chocolate syrup
Ice cubes
Half-and-half to taste

Directions
Brew your hot coffee, pour into a separate container. While hot, mix in your sweetened condensed milk and chocolate syrup. (if you don't want chocolate syrup, add 6 more tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk instead of the 6 tablespoons of chocolate syrup) Pour mixed coffee into an airtight container and refrigerate. Once chilled, pour into glass with ice cubes and add a splash of half-and-half (or 2% milk) to your taste. Enjoy!

I love love LOVE  this recipe...I will never pour my unused coffee down the drain again! =) Have any of your own coffee concoctions? Please do share!
